Mass and Mass related
Book

MASS-101

This test set consists of 9 modified weights from 1 g to 100 g.

The primary purpose of this PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s methods, procedures, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of mass standards.  The set may also be used to evaluate the calibration of balances to 200 g.

This program involves the measurement of the actual mass of the modified weights for mass calibration. In the balance evaluation, the participant will calibrate a balance using their standards and then measure the modified weights from the kit and reporting the deviation. Reference values are obtained by comparison.

This program is suitable for participants who calibrate mass standards or those that calibrate balances. Uncertainties must be calculated using accepted methods.

MASS-102

This test set consists of 3 modified weights including 200 g, 500 g to 1 k g.

The primary purpose of this PT is to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of the participant’s methods, procedures, training, and measurement uncertainty calculations relating to the measurement of mass standards.  The set may also be used to evaluate the calibration of balances to 1.7 kg.

This program involves the measurement of the actual mass of the modified weights for mass calibration. In the balance evaluation, the participant will calibrate a balance using their standards and then measure the modified weights from the kit and reporting the deviation. Reference values are obtained by comparison.
