Gage Blocks English & Metric
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of steel gage blocks.
The proficiency test kits include English gage blocks and Metric gage blocks in various sizes. Choose which kit best suits the capabilities of your laboratory.
Gage Blocks (English)
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of steel gage blocks. This package consists of 11 gage blocks in the range of 0.0625 in. to 4 in. The package consists of both inch and metric blocks.
Reference values are obtained by mechanical comparison and associated reference uncertainties are typically on the order of (2.5 + 0.8L) µin, where L is the nominal length of the gage block in inches. This program is suitable for participants who measure gage blocks by mechanical comparison, whose uncertainties are not significantly smaller than the typical reference uncertainties, and who calculate their uncertainties per the method of the ISO GUM.
Gage Blocks (English)
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of steel gage blocks. This package consists of 9 gage blocks in the range of 0.0625 in. to 2 in. The package consists of both inch blocks.

Gage Blocks (Metric)
The intent of this ILC/PT is to provide a means for the participant to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of participant practices, training, and measurement uncertainty relating to calibration of steel gage blocks. This package consists of 11 gage blocks in the range of 1,005 to 50 mm. The package consists of both inch and metric blocks.
Reference values are obtained by mechanical comparison and associated reference uncertainties are typically on the order of (0.033 + 0.80L) m, where L is the nominal length of the gage block in meterss. This program is suitable for participants who measure gage blocks by mechanical comparison, whose uncertainties are not significantly smaller than the typical reference uncertainties, and who calculate their uncertainties per the method of the ISO GUM.
